DL rules

As far as I know, DL lets you do a stopover at a wide variety of cities and not just logical hubs (CVG, ATL, SLC)

On a recent award ticket from SAT to BKQ (Brunswick, GA), DL had 23 stop over possibilities half of which did not make much logical sense to me, but it was good to have those options.

You can also do an open jaw, but you can't do an open jaw and a stopover in the same city on the way back. For example:

SAT-ATL (leg 1)
BKQ-ATL (leg 2)
ATL-SAT (leg 3)

Is not possible

SAT-ATL
BKQ-MCO
MCO-SAT

is possible

Hope that helps
