The news here is that they held the neighboring flight; not that they didn't hold yours. They've announced the snot out of the revised policy (two-three years old) that on-time operation will be the primary objective and no more waiting five more minutes for passengers. For a long time they had up signs they would even leave early if there was nobody waiting to be seated. I've been on one since when they announced it would hold for connecting passengers and I thought they were going to lynch the flight attendant making the announcement.
