View/Change Reservations has come a long way since it was first introduced, and continues to improve (just in the last week or two they added the ability to see the operating carrier confirmation number on codeshare flights).
But it still has difficulty with changing seats on partner airlines. A recent DL award I got with WP miles showed up under View/Change Reservations, but I couldn't view or change my seats. I COULD view/change my seats through MyInfo, though. Same goes for anything operated by KL (excluding intraeuropean KL flights, which don't have advance seat assignments at all): you'll be able to view/change seats through MyInfo, but not through View/Change Reservations.
