No idea when it kicks in. However, I was told this by my own personal banker on Wednesday so I have no reason to doubt it - a very sensible, rationale woman who fully understands why I have no other financial products with HSBC other than my cheque account (ie they're all cr*p) and never tries to sell me them!

She told me it would be £19.95 and this sounds about right because that is what NatWest charges for its totally useless top-level Primeline account.
