Whilst we're OT, here's a world exclusive for you. HSBC Premier, the current account option for those with a HSBC mortgage or £75k salary which - shock, horror - gives you a named contact point for all your queries, is no longer going to be free. A £19.95 per month (yes, you read that right!) fee is about to be introduced. There will be some useless benefits you already have elsewhere like travel insurance, but they will be of minimal value.

So, I may end up moving my banking to NatWest Primeline after all for the 10k miles bonus .... And then swiftly round to Smile or Cahoot
