I've always noticed those free web terminals at EWR terminals C1 and C2. There are three in terminal C2, but they were never working. Three more are set up in terminal C1 close to gate 75. Two of those were working the last time I passed through EWR. They were usually busy, and once I even saw a line of people waiting to use them.

There are several AT&T web phones at EWR. Just look for the pay phone banks, and next to some of them you will see a black phone with a LCD, keyboard, and touch pad. You can surf the web on them if you don't mind spending about a buck a minute, charged to your Visa/MC.
