End of the Pleasant Holidays SFO/LAX-HNL/OGG AirPass

I've been waiting for the next shoe to drop, hoping this would mean that the Pleasant Holidays AirPass (for unlimited travel between SFO/LAX and HNL/OGG) would switch to United, but it seems that's not to be. I got the following email today:
June 8, 2005

Dear AirPass Member:

For a number of years Pleasant Holidays has offered the AirPass and many of you have enjoyed years of inexpensive frequent travel to Hawaii on ATA with us. We have enjoyed making this unique opportunity available to you.

Unfortunately, as with all good things, we must bring the AirPass program to an end. In 2006 and beyond Pleasant Holidays will no longer offer the AirPass. Pleasant Holidays has established a new relationship with United Airlines that better meets our business needs of today and tomorrow. Regretfully, it will not allow us to offer the AirPass. We will continue to work with ATA in 2006 and beyond but in a different capacity than we have in the past.

Nothing will change regarding the flights and service with ATA this year. Your AirPass travel will not be changed in any way.

We trust you have taken full advantage of this terrific program and hope you will continue to travel with Pleasant Holidays to the Islands in the future. We truly appreciate your business.

Mahalo nui loa,

Jim Barsch
Vice President of Operations
Pleasant Holidays
I guess this means I'll be spending even more on United in 2006.
