I've flown a lot, but like others have said, my seat mates tend to be 50 year old large balding men who are either divorced or in the process of getting divorced, and who like to talk about their work to strangers such as myself.

But a couple of years ago (in '03, I believe) I was flying BDL-STL-LAX (this was after the Presidents Day "Storm of the Century"). I was supposed to fly out of ALB, but the airport was closed. Aaaaanyway, on my STL-LAX leg I sat at a window (in Coach), and this hot Latino sits next to me. (woo hoo!). We start talking about innocuous stuff. I can't tell if he's just friendly or flirting. Then he starts pressing his leg against mine. So, of course I press back, but still kind of unsure, because, after all, it's Coach. Everything is pressing against everything else.

And the the drink cart comes, and he buys me a beer. (very nice, considering I had maybe $1 in cash on me). By the time we landed at LAX, we had exchanged phone numbers and it was totally worth it.......
