Friendly but illegal CO airfare discounts land man in jail

So, wondering where all the upgrades out of EWR were going

From this morning's Newark Star Ledger

A former Continental Airlines supervisor was sentenced yesterday to five months in prison and five months of house arrest and ordered to repay close to $90,000 after pleading guilty to giving family and friends substantial breaks on airfares and improper flight upgrades.

In handing down his sentence, U.S. District Judge Harold A. Ackerman in Newark accused Irvin Cruz, 31, of Perth Amboy of engaging in an "orgy" of favors at the expense of the airline.
