I used wireless on BA when they did their Connexion By Boeing trial, which of course connected via satellite, rather than direct to the ground.

United are going for a US Domestic solution only rather than the full monty, and even then they've only got permission to do it, they still can't afford it, so won't be doing it anytime soon.
