You are correct that getting a new credit card is something of a hassle, but I must say that I am particularly fond of my Amazon.com visa from Chase. It gives you $30 off your first purchase and then entitles you to a $25 gift certificate for every 2,500 points earned. You get 1 point for every $ spent and 3 points for every $ spent on Amazon.com. I haven't spent a dime lately on books and DVDs
and I love it!
