Try booking a couple more days...

We are perplexed as we thought diamonds had no blackout dates. We were thinking about trying the old "call back for a new agent" trick, but wanted to see if anyone knew anything further.

Thanks in advance...
This has worked for me with both Hilton and Marriott properties in the past. Try booking an extra 2-3 days on each end. Then call and change the reservation a few days later. Often times this will work for some odd reason. If they are truly sold out for a private party, company meeting etc. you may be out of luck, but often I have been able as 'troy' mentioned sometimes skipping the reservation line and calling the hotel directly can help.
