I understand and completely agree. On the planes I fly, all coach seats have moveable armrests (except for bulkhead seats that is - I suppose they haven't yet figured out how to make a moveable armrest with the tray table inside!). That's why I'm thinking it would be easy to ask the FA during pre-boarding. Perhaps this is the same on your airline? I can't imagine why they would make only -some- of them friendly and not others. It's generally cheaper, anyway, to make all the parts common to each other. Remember that the regs don't require 100% of seats to have moveable armrests - but the airline has probably made the choice to put them in every available seat.
