a theoretical question about code-share OP posting...

In this day and age when EVERYTHING is computerized, accounts are "coded", purchases are made on "the web" why is it that we have such hard times getting code-share flights to post?

Why do we need to get paper boarding passes and put them in an envelope and send them to Houston for it to take 4 weeks to post?

I know that they don't run the same computer systems and that they are not "linked", but when my OP number is listed on the boarding pass, confirmed to be "in the system" why doesn't it show?

This reminds me of running a business and having accounts at 60 days out, calling them and they just keep saying, "be patient, we're working on it, let me get back to you"... then when you're approaching 90 days out and getting pissed and you want your money you call back again and they say "do you have proof of delivery?" then you send the proof of delivery and they say "we'll have to wait for the next batch of checks to be run..."

instead w/ us it is: 1) just wait, they'll post, 2) did you send in the boarding pass? and 3) I sent the boarding pass, now, where are my miles?!?!?!
