Unfortunately, deferring the correct seat assignment until the flight attendant is available can be somewhat stressful, particularly when combined with the stress of preboarding as a disabled person. It would really be nice to be able to get accurate information prior to the flight.

There is a (probably apocryphal) story about some bigwig being shown the wonderful new planes with movable aisle armrests shortly after this requirement came into being, except that nobody could figure out which ones could be raised. The bigwig allegedly said, "Why don't you just paint the movable ones red and be done with it?"

I say, why not make ALL of them movable, then we wouldn't have to go through this kind of circus.
