A fair amount of people on this board (including myself) have done this before to accumulate more credits. It is a pain to have to explain this one to accounting if you are doing this on a business trip. I only do this is NOT checking bags, otherwise you would have to leave yourself a big layover so you could pick up your bags from baggage claim and recheck them. And if you NEED to be in the city for an important meeting or something, do NOT do this. If your flight is delayed, you could get screwed and miss your connection. If the next flight to the same destination is fully booked, you won't get on that flight. However it is a great way to accumulate extra credits if you can find city pairs where it doesn't cost much more to break up the flights. Good luck and be careful..........
