The ORD-SFO 744 at 10am is not possibly to continue for SFO-SYD, because the ORD flight arrives at around 12:30pm, and the SYD flight leaves after 10pm, that means the 744 would be on the ground for more than 10 hours. In the morning, it is not possibly to get a gate just for parking in the international terminal in SFO at all. Besides, UA want to utilize the aircraft the most time in the air, not about the park the plane in the airport for 10 hours during the day.
