I'm getting concerned about my daughter's flight out to Melbourne, Australia on July 5. She is scheduled to leave SEA at 5:24 p.m. on a flight that originates in ANC. I've been watching the flights coming down from ANC at that time and none of them in the last week have been even close to on-time; most arrive into LAX often 2 hours late. Currently her layover at LAX is scheduled to run about 3 hours. If she is 2 hours late, will she make her Qantas flight at 11:40? I am seriously considering changing her flight out of SEA to an earlier one. Advice from the ANC-LA experts is welcomed.
The TA told us if she missed the flight that likely AS would put her up in a hotel, probably at a reduced rate. That just wouldn't work for her, she needs to be in MEL for school and the next flight out to MEL if she missed that 11:40 p.m. flight wouldn't be until the next evening at 11:40.
This is the third flight in a month that I have considered changing the AS portion of due to these incredibly delayed flights. Seems a bit drastic to have to be doing this on this frequent of a basis to me.
