If you want to be close to the airport, I'm not sure Nusa Dua is where you want to stay... There are many places MUCH closer to the airport - Kuta, Jimbaran, and Sanur. Our favorite hotel on the island was the Hyatt Sanur. Yes, it is older, but also has more character than Nusa Dua. Less cement, much better landscapes, good pools, and close to the 'real' Bali. We were very happy to go back to the Bali Hyatt (Sanur) after staying in Nusa Dua for a day (mattress hopping during the last FFN)
