In 1962 we first visited Kaui. Landed in a sugar cane field and greeted by Mr. Mutt Miyaki, a friend of a friend who owned the general store. The store sold everything from pineapples to Buicks. That a Costco is coming to Kaua'i makes me feel a bit old. On the other hand, I guess it's probably a good thing that those flags on the runway have been replaced by a control tower
