Don't rule out the possibility of King-King connectors, even though the King-2Doubles is much more popular! For example, my property, W Chicago - City Center, does not have any rooms with 2 doubles that connect at all, only King-King or Queen-Queen (one in each room). I know that a few other Ws are similar.
In any case, Central Reservations/SPG cannot necessarily tell these details in their system, so it can lead to challenges with connecting requests at check-in! My advice is to always call the hotel directly for specific room requests.
