A little off the subject....but most people really don't. Not that they wouldn't but since they know they can't pay for F and that they're not frequent fliers or even frequent flier members, they don't bother even thinking about it. Granted, there are some frequent fliers (me in a previous state) which did try to get mileage upgrades all the time for longer when I wasn't elite....I just flew a lot but a lot of different airlines. But the average pax. in Y doesn't think about upgrades at all.
