Hmmm. Very odd since we departed from the same gate that the EWR flight arrived from (at least according to the FIDS in the BR). BTW, AS 699 is bumped up to a 737-900 effective this Sunday for the rest of the summer season. ^

Just an update, AS 699 was ONLY 5 mins late last night!! Well done, AS.

I also have a weekend of travel coming up with both AS and QX and a check of these flights yesterday showed delays ranging from 20 mins to 2 hours for the PDX-GEG one. Was the weather bad yesterday in the Pacific Northwest or am I going to be stranded overnight in BOI, PDX or GEG at some point during the weekend? Yikes.
