Are you planning on wearing your golf shoes/spikes on the plane? I might suggest, TSA screening or otherwise, that you carry along another pair of shoes to wear home and clean and pack whatever you wear on the GC.
Since you are a golf newbie, you’ll most likely be hitting out of a lot of water traps and you don’t want to fly home with wet shoes.....
