I agree. If NW had a better F product I'd have an easier time convincing myself that it would be all right to skip CO's HoKey pokey and use miles on NW to upgrade and such.
A few months ago, I was excited to find out that a segment of my mileage run was on a NW DC-10. After enjoying CO's DC-10's domestically and to HNL I thought this would be a pleasant change from being crunched into NW's usual Airbus or DC-9. I wasn't expecting BF service by any means, just some comfort, in the form of increased legroom and seat recline as well as a decent meal (as far as airline meals go).
I was really disappointed. The cabin was really no different than any other aircraft, except there were more seats. I'm told this is the cabin they use to Hawaii as well. If that's the case, I can't bring myself to shell out 35K miles for an upgrade to NW's F class.
