I'm going to Bermuda, on the upgrade list but can't check in early on line. So, my chances of an upgrade are pretty low on the LAX- JFK portion.

Another thing to consider in the future is separate PNRs for LAX-JFK and JFK-BDA, if you are NOT checking bags and will arrive early enough at JFK to make the 2-hour window.
