On turnarounds, if the only issue is headwinds, these things usually balance themselves out. You leave late, but fly fast on the return, so you make it up. If you don't, either the weather changed (not likely in such a short period), or there's something else going on.

Given the AS delay issue seems to be systemwide, I'd say something else is going on.
