As someone who is thinking of aiming for silver in my next membership year, I have to say that if I had that many tier points, I'd be playing about with Expedia and BA's own booking engine already. I guess it's a matter of how much you desire the perks that come with the plastic.

Another thing that no one seems to have noticed here is that with the prospect of a BA only T5 at LHR (no Priority Pass lounge, no lounge access for other OW members at silver equivelant if not flying J/F), Silver will be more important next year.....
