Personally I would do it. There are plenty of I class deals for less than GBP200 that will net the requisite 80 tier points and you then have the certainty of lounge access in the bag and the tier bonus.. Make the mileage run into a weekend away - or just go for lunch somewhere decadent. Not a fan of the straightforward turnaround idea.
