Beware of the baggage goons when you leave San Jose airport customs with your luggage. The airport has luggage trollies you can use for free - but the luggage (red cap) goons will stop you at the exit door and refuse to let you take the trolly to the curb. They insist you take all your bags off the cart and place them on theirs for the 10 meter walk to the curb. I refused and then one of the baggage goons placed his hands on my cart and refused to let me go any further unless I take the luggage off the airport supplied cart.

I refused to budge he refused to budge. He then tried to take my bags off and yelled at him to take his hands off my luggage. I ended up carrying my luggage the 10 meteres to the curb to catch the hotel shuttle.

This is an organised scam - beware!
