I'm a little confused. If you have 2D/F then you are already separated from your partner. Also, a 757 doesn't have a 2F seat, nor a 2E, not unless it's an all coach configeration, but you said you don't want to be booted from first, so that's not the situation either...

Well, either way, if you're that concerned about it, just move to 5A/B. Not much of a difference from row 2 unless that side is a bulkhead.
