If that's the case, I would venture to say that it probably in an oversell situation (the Y9 B6 availability also points to this direction) with no more seats left to be assigned (at least to pax with your status level). UA is willing to oversell most flights--particularly with refundable Y & B fares, as these are often no shows, and if they do show up, there are always misconnects, op-ups, VBDs and IDBs (in that order) to accomodate everyone and get the flight out.
I was very unclear about my question. My apologies.

As recent as a few days back, I would get the booking class and then the number of seats left. There is some website (popular here on FT) which lets you check this without having to make a "dummy" booking.

Anyhow, I've been trying to access this page for the last few days and my flight shows up, but there is no seat information whatsoever. No booking classes or numbers. It just says the flight number and then there is an option to "book flight" or something like that....
