Yes. They're announcing pre-boarding for MVPs and partner elites, i.e. elites on any airline that appears on the partner list to the right of the door as you board, including AA. On 10 AS segments so far this year, I've never had anyone stop me, even though my AA status does not appear on my BP. Heck, I think even a non-elite on AA could probably get away with it.
This is actually a nice benefit, because AS usually goes straight from MVP/partner elite boarding to "all groups, all rows." So pre-boarding helps greatly with finding overhead bin space.
Other than that, don't count on any extra benefits. Although if you buy a full Y ticket on AS (which is not as ridiculously expensive as full Y on AA), you can choose an exit row seat. That's true for anyone, no special status on any airline required.
