Haven't done a back to back but I 'm actually from there and visit 3-4 times a year! Airport is a bit bigger than BHX T2, there are only about 5 non-schengen flights a day (in the summer there may be 2-3 charters to Britain on top of that) so queues for passport control are short. Security and passport control are exclusively handled by the police who are normally very nice people with mediocre language skills (completely opposite to ATH where the security company employees are very proficient in a number of languages but a complete pain in the backside), and check-in is located just above arrivals (a simple case of taking the lift). No jetways but bussing is reasonably quick as the airport is compact and aircraft parking well organised.
The only negative I can think of is the lack of premium check-in (due to pre-screening of luggage before being allowed to proceed to the desk). Also the only lounge is definitely sub-par (there is a bit of finger food but no espresso machine or internet), but can't see this being much of an issue in a turnaround.
