Okay, time to make all of you hungry...this meal was so good, that I saved the menu.
KLM business class MSP-AMS May 1997:
Appetizer: Lobster served with mango coriander salsa and saffron sauce and enhanced with black currants and thyme
Acommpanied wine: Riesling 1995, Cuvee Tradition Kuentz-Bas, Alsace (very good)
Dinner: Texas rib-eye steak grilled to perfection (I do not know how on a 747!). barbecued with a mesquite glaze and offered with spicy and crispy onion rings and sweet potato.
Accompanied wine: Savignon Blanc 1996, Villa Maria, New Zealand (good to almost very good)
Dessert: Vanilla creme-brulee served with a caramel crust, almond biscotti and fresh raspberries.
Accompanied port: Grahams Vintage 1990 (good)
After a movie with chocolate covered strawberries and a brief nap....
Brunch: fruit salad, various Dutch cheeses, smoked salmon, tomato basil quiche and a perfectly brewed cup of coffee.
Briefly, the return trip to the US included...
A wonderful appetizer of smoked trout enhanced in ginger-garlic dressing, a dinner of Sesame-coated salmon accented by a peppercorn sauce, presented with a lemon risotto and carrots. Dessert was a memorable apple cheesecake and Belgian chocolates.
KLM is the best airline in the World. End of subject. (okay, I've never tried Singapore or Thai....)
