I have just flown BKK-DXB-BKK one sector on the new 777, and one on the old version.

BKK-DXB boarded 2am expecting light supper, and told no meal until breakfast in 5 hours time. Tray Table on new 777ER already broken. As I had decided against a light supper in the TG First Class Lounge and had not eaten for 7 hours, FA managed a Muffin and Yoghurt for my First Class Supper. Gave breakfast a total miss as I was due at another Breakfast in Dubai shortly after arrival.

On the return 9.10am DXB-BKK, I had a wake-up room service continental breakfast at hotel, plus more substantial hot breakfast at DXB Lounge, then guess what, was offered another breakfast and no other meal on the 6 hour flight, 1820 arrival. Just had the fruit and asked FA to save some cheese for later. Even Brunch with something other than eggs and chicken sausage would have been better. I really think EK needs to look at their First Class catering on these sectors. Etihad offers Continental Breakfast and then a later Lunch on a virtually identical timed flight from AUH.
