Thankfully those who advocate permanent detention for mere foolishness don't become judges too often. As is evident too often, common-sense often cannot be taught. And if being a moron was punishable by unlimited lock up, then the prisons would be even more full and costing us even more billions.

A slap on the wrist is perhaps more becoming than the unlimited detention you suggest? After all, it's reported that she did not say that she had a bomb in her bag; she said "Check good, I might have a bomb in my bag." It appears some TSAer and perhaps a prosecutor have an inability to use common sense and are once again on a power-trip.

If it was certain that this woman (or another) would certainly not have a bomb in her bag, then the TSA would not have to "check good" (sic) at all. It's a reality that anyone's bag, including your own, might have a bomb in it; and that possible conditional event is why the TSA is checking the bag in the first place. Speaking the truth -- i.e., stating a fact -- should not be punishable.
