Well, turns out that there are zero hotels available in Nagoya when I want to go. So, plan B might well be to spring for the Railpass, which would then make it economical to take the train from Nagoya to somewhere else for a hotel. Here's the new question - anyone know of a town a fairly short train ride from Nagoya (perhaps half an hour), with hotels near the railway station?
