I only care about CPM for status miles or CPS for status segments.
if I want to go there anyway but am flexible about dates:
- 0.07/status mile if it's short enough to not upgrade, or for international flights where I'll use miles to upgrade
- 0.12/status mile in F including the cost of the domestic upgrade e-stickers.
if I'm going to waste a day flying around: 0.035/status mile in Y or 0.07/status mile in F. Most of my extra flying is adding segments to previously scheduled work trips, like taking ORD-BDL and turning it into ORD-BDL-DFW-ORD - an extra 1200 miles on AA for the $75 upgrade and $10 in taxes.
For segments: 4 segments in a day for $100 plus airport parking, at least 3 segments under 300 miles and the fourth under two hours flying time.
