garden island article said they will open this fall, although it wouldn't appear possible. took home depot about 9 months or more from permits to open, and there is no sign of construction (as of monday) at the costco site.

while costco wouldn't mean much to me if on the mainland, i believe it will be a great help here on kauai. i'm often frustrated with our stores' (safeway, star, foodland, and big save) quality, variety and cost. on the other hand, i just spent 3 days on lanai. so kauai options are looking quite xlnt today.
