It wasn't deliberately funny, but a few years ago I was on an AA MD-80 when the Captain identified himself as "Captain Spaulding" as he made his 'welcome aboard' announcement.

I completely cracked up, which confused the flight attendant standing in the aisle near me; when I explained that "Captain Spaulding" was the name of the most famous character ever played by Groucho Marx (in the film Animal Crackers) and that the song Hooray for Captain Spaulding became Groucho's theme song for the rest of his life, she started laughing too.

I asked if she knew whether Capt. Spaulding had ever gotten any teasing because of the Groucho character and she replied, "as far as I know, not until later today when I do it."
