I am always amazed by the power skin color can and does have with regard to *ahem* "mistaken identity", causing even well-intentioned individuals to take leave of their otherwise good senses.

One story I will never forget is one shared by a friend, a multi-million dollar a year African-American Senior Wall Street Investment Banker.

She was in the laundry room of her building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan minding her own business, sorting her clothes when she was asked by one of her neighbors, whom she thought she knew well...

"...If she had any free days as she was looking to hire a maid..."

She now lives in Chappaqua with the Clintons as her neighbors.
