(Heading east somewhere over Nevada) Captain: "Folks, if you look out the windows, you can see the rugged terrain of the American West. (FAs roll their eyes -- they've clearly been through this before.) Imagine what it must have been like for the early settlers heading towards the Pacific. Those wagon trains took about two months to cross this stretch of country and averaged 2 casualties per hundred. We'll be getting to Detroit a little faster than that and with hopefully fewer casualties..."
