Maclaren sturdy for travel!
I also highly recommend the Maclarens. We bought ours in London when our son was 5 months old and flew back with it; we now attach a Boogey board to the back for him to stand and let his sister sit in it. It's been to Ireland, Barbados, Atlantis, Canada, all over the U.S. and still is our primary stroller to go shopping and to the park. The key is the sturdy aluminum construction -- I can recall a few times I've seen other people retrieve their strollers exiting the plane only to find that a piece of plastic has broken off, making the stroller essentially useless (not a fun way to start a vacation!) We have the Techno which is one of the heavier models, but still foldable and openable with one hand and a child in the other arm. The only disadvantage is lack of storage space, but we hang a mesh bag on the back which can hold plenty of diapers, wipes, jackets, sippy cups, snacks, etc. ^
