Also worth mentioned that Delta is still offering the "Gold Medallion with one flight" promotion for those in CLT. It is a targeted promo, but if you are elite on US you might be able to contact Delta and take that promo as your challenge. With Gold status you'll get 100% mileage bonuses as well as access to Medallion lines, etc. At worst, you can sign up for the Silver in one flight promo. Silver isn't worth a whole lot, but it never hurts.

And djk, that real glass is gone on Delta now too.
