What is F service, amenities, and seat like on DL? I'm sick of playing the gate lottery in CLT with US, and DL actually has some relatively reasonable F fares that I would probably just buy. But I'm curious--what should I expect?

I've looked around the forum but didn't see a lot on this in the past month. Thoughts would be welcome. Thanks!
I find (and others will disagree I'm sure) that DL planes tend to be in better condition. Admittedly, both are a bit dirty. Depending on where you fly, DL has many more widebody aircraft on domestic routes. On my last 6 US flights in F, I have been offered a pre-flight on 3 flights and no one offered to hand my jacket on 4 of the flights. It is by far the exception when DL fails to do these things. While these are little things, they should be done in FC. On very few occassions is there not time to do these two things. I find DL to me much better at the little things and in providing a more uniform product. DL's IFE is actually turned on. Even if there isn't a movie I can listen to music most DL flights, where as the US 737s and many 319s don't have the IFE on.

DL food pretty much sucks unless you are a corn lover who doesn't like to make decisions. Corn aside, all the airlines have little food these days, so this is probably not much different from US. Generally, I find the US food marginally better.

FC doesn't get you Crown Room Club access, but if you are buying FC tickets you'll probably make PM pretty fast. At the PM level CRC is gratis. Of course you can buy a membership. I find that the CRC beat the pants off the US clubs. In years when I haven't qualified for PM I have purchased a membership.
