BAA own and operate most British airports (and some American ones too - as they're much better at it than the US equivalents).
LC airlines operate from both LGW and STN, and BMI operates from LHR, and is going rapidly towards the LC model.
BAA is NOT the same as BA. They are quite different companies.

Alright, I stand corrected. I thank you for pointing out a my misconception. But that was the minor point in my argument. I'll try to keep an eye on this thread and hope that you have a response to the main substance, which is that BA does not have to compete on anything approaching a level playing field. IMO, if they did, they would have been chewed up and spit out a long time ago.
