Welcome to FT merri!

No big loss flying MH instead of SQ, you'll get better seat pitch (34 vs. 31") in exchange for slightly less polished but earnest service.

You can expect:
- some of the better coach seats around, with footrest, lumbar support and 'winged' headrest. The fairly thick padding reduces pitch some but works for me.
- a 6.5" screen in the seatback in front of you. The options might not be as numerous as SQ's, but are better than most other airlines'. Don't be surprised if your games crash from time to time, the OS may be Microsoft's
- food: the portions are more generous than most, and the quality as well
- drinks: free wine with meals; on northern European flights the crew makes additional rounds with free beer cans around meal time. Frequent soft drink rounds during flight.
- check the 744 seatmap: avoid middle seats B/E/J at all costs as their legroom is encroached upon by the box housing the IFE electronics. Apart from the obvious exit rows (bulkheads are usually reserved for babies), I am partial to the last rows of each section, as you can recline without concern for the passenger behind you. 60/61 A/C and H/K are ideal for twosomes.

On the KUL-SIN vv. legs, don't expect any of the above, those are short-haul no-frills flights. 14 A/F on the 734 have extra legroom.
