I've never complained about any FA to an airline, and there was nothing wrong with the service other than the ear wax thing, and fingers in the salad. What would you do?
This kind of thing is very common in most countries except the USA and Canada for some reason we are very neat food freaks. When I was in London last year in a high-class restaurant (Pollo in the West end), one of my food servers took the trash out of the side door (but through the restaurant) then came back and served me – my food. No hand washing – na da. Seen crazier things in Kyoto and do not get me started about Eastern Europe.
That said I would have mentioned it to her privately before or after.
