It's been awhile since I've been on one but I do not recall ever seeing a shower on an XPT. I did find this on their website- "The sleeping car is only available for nighttime use on the Sydney - Melbourne, Melbourne - Sydney, Sydney - Brisbane, and Brisbane - Sydney routes. There is one sleeping car per train, providing accommodation for 18 passengers in twinette-style compartments. Private shower and toilet facilities are located between each compartment" so it looks like there are only showers available if you are travelling in a sleeping car at night.
